Background

Desalitech was founded by Prof. Avi Efraty under the name "Advanced Desalination Technologies Ltd." as the platform for the development and commercialization of his innovative closed circuit reverse osmosis desalination technologies.

After receiving exceptional reviews on the international patent applications and obtaining outstanding experimental results during test trails, the company was activated under the leadership of Nadav Efraty in order to make its solutions available for diverse commercial applications in the expanding global markets.

The investment and subsequent engagement of AquAgro Fund, an affiliate of Gaon Agro Industries which is one of the leading holding companies in the Israeli water market, has largely contributed to the business development of the company.

Nadav Efraty
CEO
Nadav served as a helicopter pilot in the Israeli Air Force and was discharged with the rank of Major. Nadav graduated summa cum laude both his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in computer science, and has worked in the high-tech start-up industry for 4 years where he led teams and projects.
During the past years Nadav has been involved in the business development of Desalitech, and since 2007 he has been serving as CEO of the company.

Prof. Avi Efraty
CTO

Avi received his Chemistry Ph.D. From McMaster University in Canada, thereafter, he held research and teaching positions in the University of Waterloo (Ontario, Canada), the University of Georgia (Georgia, USA), Rutgers - The State University of New Jersey (New Jersey, USA) and the Weizmann Institute of Science (Israel). After an extended and extensive academic carrier, Avi co-founded and served as CEO of a bio-medical start-up company, which developed advanced pharmaceutical products.
Since 1995 Avi has been privately engaged in the research and development of new clean energy and energy saving technologies. This research yielded the innovative closed circuit desalination technologies of Desalitech.
