Nadav Efraty
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Efraty has led Desalitech since 2007. During this period, he has become a recognized expert and visionary in the global desalination market. Mr. Efraty secured A-round venture capital funding for Desalitech in 2008. He has managed all aspects of the company’s business through the financing, establishment and operation of its commercial-scale BWRO-CCD and SWRO-CCD demonstration plants and commercializing the company’s products through sales and collaborations with industry-leading companies. He has assembled a world-class management team and developed a compelling strategic plan for the company.
Prior to joining Desalitech, Mr. Efraty served as a search and rescue helicopter pilot for seven years and achieved the rank of Major. He subsequently earned B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Computer Science, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He served for five years in R&D project management, technology leadership and technical sales roles with Exanet, Inc., a mature high-tech startup that developed and commercialized a state-of-the-art distributed parallel file and operating system.
Richard L. Stover, Ph.D.
Executive Vice President
Dr. Stover is a water industry veteran with 25 years of experience in product development and commercialization. He served as Chief Technical Officer and Senior Vice President of Marketing for Energy Recovery, Inc., the leading supplier of energy recovery devices for seawater reverse osmosis. Dr. Stover directed the technical/commercial effort that took the company from startup through a very successful global launch and IPO in 2008. He held responsibility for engineering, research and development in addition to product strategy and pricing, technical support and field service. ERI ultimately achieved 85% market share through a combination of organic growth and acquisition and maintained 70% gross margin under Dr. Stover’s direction. He left ERI to serve as Vice President of Engineering of the startup company Oasys Water where he developed forward osmosis processes for desalination, water reuse and osmotic power.
Dr. Stover has been granted numerous patents for desalination methods and devices. He obtained a doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Stover was co-recipient of the European Desalination Society’s 2006 Sidney Loeb award for outstanding innovation. He currently serves on the board of the International Desalination Association.
Professor Avi Efraty
Chief Technical Officer
Professor Avi Efraty is the inventor of CCD technology. Through his development effort, he has emerged as a world-class leader in the theory and the practice of the reverse osmosis process. He has continued to develop the intellectual property portfolio of the company, present articles at industry events, and optimize CCD technology for new applications.
Prior to his work on CCD technology, he served for nearly 20 years as a Professor of Physical Chemistry at the Universities of Waterloo, Georgia, Rutgers, and the Weizmann Institute. Over the course of his academic career, Professor Efraty supervised 35 students for advanced degrees (Ph.D. & M.Sc.) and published over 150 research papers and reviews. Professor Efraty was founder and CEO of ASSAF Pharmaceutical Industries, a bio-medical start-up company with 35 employees. He has conducted research on clean energy and desalination for last 15 years and founded Advanced Desalination Technologies, Ltd.
